Google approached us five days ago, asking permission to feature Akin in their Early Access collection on Google Play. This is a collection of mobile apps currently still in beta testing but open to brave early adopters eager to try the latest app experiences.
After agreeing, Akin was formally included last Thursday night.
Immediately, Akin saw a surge in new users from all around the world.
Where is everyone from?
Unsurprisingly, most of our new users are from the most populous countries, namely the United States, China, and India. Rounding out our Top 10 are Germany, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Australia, Israel, Brazil, and Canada.
As our alpha testers know, we’ve kept location filtering disabled for the potential matches everyone receives each day. This is so early testers can more easily see and interact with each other. It also means we’ll be meeting and talking to people possibly from the other side of the planet, all eager to see if Akin has any promise. Please be kind and respectful to each other.
Akin is still in beta and that means it’s a work-in-progress that will evolve. We all want it to be something we can use to meet more trustworthy people, discover more compatible partners, and form more promising relationships. But we’re still figuring out if our ideas make sense.
Everyone’s feedback is extremely valuable in helping us do this. Let us know what we’re doing right or wrong.
